What's new in v0.5.1

You land with three drives in your bag. The last thing you want after a ten-day shoot is to spend an hour dragging folders and watching progress bars before you can even see what you have. You plug the drives in. You go to bed.

By morning, SightRoll has walked every clip, described every scene, and organized your new footage into the same folder structure it already knows from your archive. The establishing shots are with the other establishing shots. The candid moments are flagged and findable.

Auto-Import watches your drives continuously — even while the main window is closed. Files move with a hardened MOVE, not a copy, so nothing stalls on a congested volume. Status stays in the menu bar, quiet unless something needs attention.

Every collaboration used to start the same way — an hour on a call explaining what's where. "The usable beach material is in folder 07, but not the Thursday afternoon stuff — those are soft." Every project, the same archaeology.

Now you share the catalog and your editor opens SightRoll to see what you see: every clip described in plain language, organized by scene and mood, searchable by what's actually in the frame. They type "pier, blue hour, candid" and find the shot in four words.

Shared collections appear directly in the sidebar. Your editor sees who shared it, what's in it, and can navigate the whole thing without a briefing. You see who has access and can revoke it at any time.

You're trying to structure a three-minute segment. You open Director and start writing — but every time you reference a specific clip, you have to stop, switch tabs, find it, and come back to describe it. The AI doesn't know the one.

With @-mentions, you stay in the conversation. Type @harbor-sunset and Director knows exactly which clip you mean — what's in the frame, how long it runs, which scene it belongs to.

The conversation stays about structure and emotion. Open with the wide, cut to the close-up before the line, hold on the reaction. Director understands which shots you're talking about without you having to prove it.

Two years of archive. Thousands of clips, described by a model that was state-of-the-art when you first imported them. A better VLM ships. Your new footage gets the upgrade automatically — but what about everything else?

Before Force re-analyze, the old descriptions stayed old. The search results for your earlier work were as good as the model that first saw them, which meant your most valuable archive was the hardest to find.

Now the sidebar shows you exactly where you stand — plan tier, credit balance, storage used — before you decide to run anything. The cloud model is called Director Cloud, unambiguously, everywhere. You top up before the overnight job, not after it stalls at 3am.
