A clip holds more than a picture. SightRoll’s V2 pipeline uses EmbeddingGemma 2 to index video, audio and text on your Mac, then finds scenes and describes selected frames.

Do I need a licence and a cloud plan?
No. A cloud subscription includes the on-device app and external agents. Choose lifetime for the Mac app, or a cloud plan for sync and included credits. Manage an active subscription through the customer portal.
What uses cloud credits?
Hosted analysis and cloud Director use credits. Local AI and your own Claude Code or Codex agent use no SightRoll credits. Your agent provider’s limits apply. Compare the live storage and credit allowances above.
Checkout is handled securely by Polar. Apple Silicon is required for on-device AI. Sync requires macOS 14+.

On-device AI requires Apple Silicon M1 or newer. Optional cloud processing can be used on a supported Mac running macOS 14 or later. Start with a sample from your camera to check compatibility.
Experimental V2 adds audio cues to video and text search. You can try a sound or atmosphere, but speech transcription and exact spoken-line search are not available. V1 searches visual content and descriptions.
Yes. Export trimmed source clips with your chosen codec, resolution and bitrate, then bring them into your editor. SightRoll prepares the selects; the timeline and final cut stay yours.
